What aBart Bob / 2016

"What aBart Bob" features a new series of paintings in which Wizard $kull explores a variety of themes that are specific to modern American culture. Using the 1991 film "What About Bob" as a reference point, this series explores the entertainment industry's manipulation of mentally damaged characters -- personalities that in real life would be tragic become whimsical icons. These recognizable idols of the modern world are seemingly cute and lovable both in appearance and personality, yet each represent a naive delinquency. By fusing these figures together, Wizard $kull confronts us with the distortion of our own modernized values.
